As AI assistants become more deeply integrated into content creation, site management, and automation workflows, WordPress is emerging as a key source of context for these systems. This session explores how the Model Context Protocol (MCP) enables a secure, structured, and scalable way to connect WordPress with AI assistants.
The talk introduces MCP in practical terms and demonstrates how WordPress data—such as posts, metadata, user roles, and site configurations can be safely exposed as contextual inputs for AI tools. Attendees will learn how MCP differs from traditional REST-based or plugin-specific AI integrations, and why context-driven access reduces fragmentation and improves control.
We will also examine real-world use cases including editorial assistance, content moderation, SEO support, and administrative automation, while highlighting critical security and governance considerations such as least-privilege access, non-human identity management, and auditability.
By the end of the session, participants will understand how MCP enables more intelligent AI assistants without compromising WordPress security, and how to evaluate whether MCP-based integration is appropriate for their site or organization.
